Easy Rider Recap
This past weekend four hundred and forty three riders from Fernie to Edmonton (and beyond) made the pilgrimage to Panorama Mountain Village this weekend for the 25thAnniversary Easy Rider Snowboard Cup. Located just outside of Invermere, B.C., Panorama has a strong community of local riders and some of the best staff in the biz, making it the choice venue for this weekend-long event. The event included a two day battle of the clock on a banked slalom course, as well as a big air competition. With well over 400 competitors this is the biggest snowboard contest in Canada if not North America. And Riders.Aid got to be front and center.
It was awesome to see such a great turnout from SFC chapters for this event, ready to participate as well as help out where needed. Whether on the course, or in the riders aid tent. At the tent, we sold raffle tickets to raise money for the Turn On The Tap Program. Not only did we raise over $2000 dollars for the Turn On The Tap program, but we brought awareness to a massive problem in our world, and made it known not only to the general public but to a large group of the snowboard industry.
Thank you to everyone for all there time and energy to pull of such an incredible event. For more info about what went down check out http://www.snowboardcanada.com/news_article?news_id=2057
