Its the annual Worship and Ride event! (we gotta be getting close to 10 yrs by now). For those of you that have never attended before, heres the details...
We start on the night of Dec 30 with a dodgeball tournament at the Community Rec Centre in Fernie. Contact Bruce at bruce@sfc-canada.com for details or if you want to enter a team. Its a fun event to watch even if youre not playing.
Accommodations will be provided at the church (we only have space for 50 people so if you want in on the church, be the first to get your money in at the registration table and you will be guaranteed a spot).
Breakfast is provided on the morning of Dec 31, followed by a short devotion and then we go shred! (I think thats pretty self-explanatory). You will be responsible for getting your own lift ticket for the ski hill. We are planning on having a prayer session on the hill sometime throughout the day.
We come back to the church to rest-up, get changed, shower (at the pool if you want to) and a pizza dinner is provided that night. Followed by some games and entertainment and then a guest speaker (Sid Koop from Truth Matters Ministries). Then we bring in the New Years with worship and praise and thanks to our wonderful Father!
Breakfast is provided again on the morning of Jan 1, followed by a short devotion and then the event is finished.
So... to sum up, you get 2 breakfasts, 1 dinner, games and entertainment, a speaker, great worship music and sleeping accommodations at our church all for the low price of... $40! Thats right, you heard it straight from the horses mouth...this whole event costs $40. If you already live in Fernie and dont need accommodations and will be helping out with setting up and cleaning up, the cost is reduced to $20.
