For most of our short existence, skiers have been an integral part of this snowboard based organization. They have been working right alongside with us, even when the events were snowboard specific. They didn’t mind being called Snowboarders for Christ, because their heart was the mountain culture, and SfC was the vehicle that God was working through. As they got more involved, they started working in leadership roles and eventually a couple even started their own SfC groups. Even though they found it difficult at times to really feel at home with SfC, they knew this is what they wanted to be apart of. After much thought and discussion we decided to become Snowboarders and Skiers for Christ Canada. To finally acknowledge and encourage those who ride 2 sticks instead of 1 to pursue the life God has for them. This has helped open the doors to growth and greater impact on the mountain culture, without taking away from the core feel, values and mission of SfC. We will be using the brand of SfC to cover all of our snowboarding and skiing events and will be united with SfC groups around the world through this brand.
We encourage all skiers and riders to grow in their friendship with Jesus, to live a life of Faith and to become a positive impact in their community.
